Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2010

Thursday was our day to attend Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer day. The entrance was decked out with giant Mickey pumpkins welcoming guests to the party.

We arrived around 4 o’clock so that we had time to eat dinner, take some pictures, and visit The Haunted Mansion before the party started.

 

The Haunted Mansion is really decked out for Halloween and it’s the only time that Mrs. Gracie comes out to greet her guests.

If you look closely you can see some ghosts at the Birthday Party.

And here’s the ghost that hitched a ride in our doom buggy. (My camera isn’t very good at photographing ghosts in the dark, sorry…)

We got online to see Mickey and Minnie at 6:40. They were together this year in the Judge’s Tent at Mickey’s House.

 

And close by was Donald and Daisy in front of the Toon Town Sign. Sadly, this will be the last MNSSHP for Toon Town as it’s being closed in the Spring for the Fantasyland expansion. I’m not sure what will happen to Mickey and Minnie’s Houses, but I hope they will just relocate them elsewhere.

 

On our way to the Boo to You Parade, we found the Old Hag from Snow White. She kept trying to get Dear Son to eat that apple, but he was too smart for her!

We found a good spot to watch the parade in front of Town Hall on Main Street.

 

The Headless Horseman “rides like the wind” to signal the beginning of the parade. He is so fast that this is the first year that I got a ‘decent’ picture of him.

The Boo to You Parade has lots of Disney Villains and features many “Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Park Characters” from the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean and the Country Bear Jamboree.

 

              

            

As soon as the parade ended, we were in the right spot to get in line to meet Pooh and the Gang at the flag pole.

Next, we walked over to The Hub, as it was time for HalloWishes.

   

From the fireworks, we headed to the Villains Mix & Mingle at the castle and watched from Maleficent’s line.

    

We were second in line for Maleficent…

Had no problem meeting Dr. Facilier…

And were last in line for Cruella.

So, if you are planning on meeting your favorite villains at the Mix & Mingle, you’ll have the opportunity to meet two to three of them per show.

We headed back to Toon Town to catch the princesses with their princes.

  

Since we were next door, we decided to stop in and say “Good Night” to our host. We knew that Mickey and Minnie were alternating between their Halloween and Pirate Costumes and we hoped to catch them in the latter. We lucked out.

Since Dear Son was a good sport, posing for pictures all night, we trick or treated our way to Space Mountain and let him ride once before going home.

  

The only bad thing about Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is that you need more than one night to do it all. You need at least two nights to do all the MNSSHP only events and another if you want to ride rides, and have dinner and shop.
